Condylar Fracture

The condyles of the cannon bone are the main articular surfaces of this bone in the fetlock. In racehorses, an extreme amount of repetitive stress is placed on the bones. Occasionally, as the bone remodels in response to this stress, the bone can become brittle, leading to a fracture.
